Job Description

The Building Planner is responsible for designing, planning, and coordinating the layout and functionality of buildings, ensuring that projects comply with zoning laws, building codes, environmental regulations, and the needs of stakeholders. This role requires collaboration with architects, engineers, contractors, and local authorities to deliver safe, efficient, and aesthetically pleasing structures.

Parking: $250 monthly allowance Hybrid work schedule: 3 days in office, 2 remote (work from home)

Hours

Full-time, Monday-Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm/ hybrid

Location

Honolulu, Oahu

Pay

$70,000 to $100,000 a year

Responsibilities

• Research and analysis in support of various environmental, technical, or feasibility studies
• Preparation of Environmental Assessment and Environmental Impact Statement documents
• Preparation of land use entitlement applications
• Coordination with Federal, State, and County agencies on application processing and regulatory compliance
• Assist Clients in processing construction permits
• Coordination with clients, technical consultants, and other members of the project team
• Presentations to decision making bodies such as Planning Commissions, Boards or Councils
• Formulate and implement community engagement strategies which ensure respectful and transparent communication/dialogue throughout each project assignment

Qualifications

• Degree in urban and regional planning or similar field (Master's degree preferred)
• Professional experience in planning or related field
• Excellent communications, research, writing and critical thinking skills
• Experience in project management; ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines to support our mission of "Excellence in Process Management"
• Willingness and ability to work effectively as a member of multidisciplinary teams
• American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification is a plus
