Job Description

Immediately seeking candidates for a full-time opening with a local insurance agency. The essential function of the position is to provide service support to our agents and clients, including aiding clients with service needs and making changes to existing accounts.

The ideal candidate will have prior insurance experience, excellent customer service skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.


Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm or 8:00am-4:30pm (flexible)


Honolulu, Oahu


$40,000 to $45,000 a year


  • Proactively assist the agent in developing an insurance program for clients. Help the agent and client find a way to solve problems in a timely manner. Act as a technical resource for the agent and client.
  • Prequalify accounts with agent.
  • Review account and discuss market, coverage and pricing options with agent.
  • Assist agent with preparation of submission to markets.
  • Market accounts with parameters on coverage, pricing, loss sensitive plans, services, commission and target due date for quote.
  • Review quotes and make adjustments to quotes as needed.
  • Review quote with agent and prepare proposal if account is over $100,000 in total premium.
  • Bind coverage per agency procedures.
  • Review policies and request for corrections as needed.
  • Review expiration list and discuss market, coverage and pricing options with agent at least 4 months prior to expiration.
  • Assist agent with renewal questionnaire. Determine with agent if there is competition, remarket or renew as per expiring.
  • Maintain applied files and paper files per the Agency Procedures.
  • Performs other tasks and duties as needed.


  • College degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 5+ years of direct insurance industry work experience preferred.
  • Proficient with computers including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to operate various office equipment, including telephone, PC, Xerox machine, fax machine, and scanner.
  • Excellent oral and written interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Insurance license or ability to obtain one.
