Job Description

A growing construction firm is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to support government construction projects across Hawaii, the Pacific region, and select West Coast locations. This role is responsible for overseeing quality planning, field inspections, documentation, compliance tracking, and coordination with project teams and client representatives.

The ideal candidate has strong construction field knowledge, understands government project requirements, and is comfortable balancing technical review, documentation, and hands-on site coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project quality plans, procedures, and documentation.
  • Review field work for alignment with contract documents, drawings, specifications, and approved materials.
  • Coordinate inspection activities, testing requirements, corrective actions, and closeout items.
  • Track project documentation, quality logs, submittals, RFIs, drawings, and related records.
  • Serve as a quality resource for project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives.
  • Lead quality meetings and communicate project concerns, updates, and resolution items.
  • Identify deficiencies, document follow-up actions, and verify completion.
  • Support project startup, closeout, scheduling coordination, and risk identification.
  • Partner with site safety personnel to support safe and compliant field operations.
  • Assist with proposal, administrative, and project support needs as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience considered.
  • 5+ years of construction experience, including quality management or field leadership on government or large commercial projects.
  • OSHA 30 certification required; First Aid/CPR preferred.
  • Current federal construction quality management certification preferred.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical documentation.
  • Experience maintaining project records, inspection documentation, and quality reports.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn project management software.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with owners, project teams, subcontractors, and field personnel.
  • Ability to travel or deploy to project sites through Hawaii, the Pacific region, and West Coast locations.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass required background clearance for project site access.
