Director of Construction / Capital Projects

Nationally held private construction firm seeking Director of Construction to oversee various project managers and construction projects. Responsible for managing all aspects of daily construction operations, including staff assignments, project planning, cost and schedule oversight, and communication with owners and subcontractors. This role is involved in all project phases—from preconstruction through completion—and ensures consistent communication around planning, site logistics, and coordination, with a strong focus on safety, security, and minimizing disruptions to ongoing facility operations.

This position comes with car, phone and gas allowance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and monthly performance evaluations
• Manage risk, ensure compliance with company policies, and resolve claims efficiently
• Lead project planning and execution, including team selection, contracting (GMP/lump sum), and overall operations
• Support business development through market analysis, proposals, and client strategy alignment
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and industry partners
• Mentor staff, support recruiting efforts, and promote company culture and employee development
• Ensure successful project delivery by monitoring budget, schedule, contracts, and close-out processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in construction management, engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 7 - 10 years’ experience as a Senior Project Manager with a major general contractor
