Job Description

One of Hawai'i's local companies that was voted Top Places to Work is seeking an Eligibility Systems Specialist for a full-time and hybrid position in the health insurance sector.

Hours

Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00a.m - 4:30p.m

Location

Honolulu, Oahu

Pay

$51,000 to $57,500 a year

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the electronic processing and maintenance of member eligibility records and enrollment data.
  • Coordinate eligibility updates and implementation activities with clients, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Serve as a primary resource for enrollment questions, issue resolution, and system support.
  • Review eligibility workflows and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Prioritize and monitor daily electronic enrollment transactions to ensure timely completion.
  • Partner with IT teams to test system enhancements and support new technology implementations.
  • Investigate eligibility discrepancies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
  • Create and update process documentation, operating procedures, and training materials.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff and business partners on eligibility systems and electronic processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in healthcare operations, insurance administration, customer support, or a related office environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel functions.
  • Experience working with electronic enrollment, eligibility, or data management systems.
  • Familiarity with SQL, databases, or other technical tools is preferred.
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work across departments and with external clients.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining confidential information.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities while contributing to process improvements and operational efficiency.
