Job Description

Our client is dedicated to providing a safe and welcoming environment for our community and the animals in their care. They are currently seeking a reliable, hands-on Facilities Maintenance Worker to join the team and ensure the grounds and facilities remain in top-tier condition. As a Facilities Maintenance Worker, you will serve as the right hand to the Facilities Manager. You will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of our buildings and exterior grounds, ensuring that everything remains safe, clean, and fully operational. This position is perfect for a "jack-of-all-trades" who enjoys active work and contributing to a great local cause.

Upon hire, first two weeks will start from 6:00AM - 2:30PM. Must be able to work 1 Weekend day every other week.

Hours

Full-time, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Must be available for a rotating schedule (Mon–Fri, plus one weekend day every other week).

Pay

$23 to $25 an hour

Responsibilities

  • Facility Maintenance: Perform light carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and painting as needed to keep the facility in good repair.
  • Groundskeeping: Operate landscaping equipment, including lawn mowers, leaf blowers, and weedwhackers to maintain the exterior.
  • Safety & Sanitation: Manage the safe handling and application of facility materials, including kennel disinfectants, paints, herbicides, and other supplies.
  • General Support: Assist the Facilities Manager with various projects, equipment upkeep, and inventory organization.
  • Community Engagement: Participate in company-sponsored events, facility fundraisers, and, when necessary, assist with disaster response or community aid efforts.

Qualifications

  • Valid Driver’s License: You must have a clean, valid driver's license and be comfortable operating a company pick-up truck for transporting items, supplies, and equipment.
  • Versatility: Demonstrated ability (or willingness to learn) basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting tasks.
  • Reliability & Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible schedule. This position requires working 1 weekend day every other week.
  • Team Player: A positive attitude and a willingness to represent our facility at community fundraisers and events.
  • Physical Ability: Able to lift heavy items, work in various weather conditions, and safely handle chemicals/cleaning agents.
  • Experience: Previous verifiable maintenance experience of at least 6 months.
