Job Description

This role provides comprehensive human resources and administrative support across the employee lifecycle, including personnel transactions, benefits administration, recruitment, and onboarding. The position is responsible for maintaining accurate employee records, processing HR actions, and ensuring compliance with applicable policies and regulations. It serves as a resource to employees by answering questions related to benefits, leave, and HR processes, while also supporting functions such as labor relations, workers compensation, and classification activities. Additionally, the role handles various administrative duties including recordkeeping, reporting, and coordination with internal departments and external agencies to ensure efficient HR operations.

Hours

Full-time, Full-time, Monday-Friday: 7:45am-4:30pm

Kalihi, Honolulu, Oahu

Pay

$20 to $21 an hour

Responsibilities

  • Process employee transactions including hires, separations, promotions, transfers, and HR database updates while ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Administer benefits by advising employees, coordinating open enrollment, and maintaining accurate leave and attendance records.
  • Support recruitment by reviewing applications, processing documents, and coordinating with HR offices.
  • Assist with new hire orientation, including preparing materials, reviewing forms, and guiding employees through onboarding.
  • Manage mileage reimbursements by verifying, calculating, and submitting requests for payment.
  • Handle classification and workers’ compensation processes, including preparing forms and supporting case documentation.
  • Provide general HR and administrative support, including labor relations assistance, employment verifications, recordkeeping, reporting, and responding to inquiries.

Qualifications

  • One (1) year of progressively responsible general office clerical experience.
  • Two (2) years of experience in an office where the work required the knowledge and application of pertinent human resources rules, regulations, procedures and program requirements.
