Job Description

A local non-profit is seeking and HR professional to join their team as an HR Generalist and be responsible for overseeing HR functions, planning, administering, coordinating, and implementing HR services and policies.?

Qualified candidates will have their bachelor's degree and 5 years of HR experience with familiarity in Hawai'i labor laws.


Full-time, Monday to Friday


Honolulu, Oahu


$70,000 to $80,000 a year


  • Ensure the company and leaders comply with all applicable rules and regulations relating to workforce and personnel-related areas.
  • Administer benefit plans including annual plan renewals and employee open enrollment.
  • Assist with the development of performance and training goals.
  • Review, recruit, hire, and train employees.
  • Conduct exit interviews.
  • Review and recommend HR vendors and other outside sources.
  • Develop and implement new HR policies and strategies.
  • Develop and manage the quarterly and annual performance review/evaluation process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's or master's degree in human resources, business administration, communications, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in human resources management, staff functions, and activities.
  • Previous experience working for a non-profit preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of payroll and employee-related benefits and labor requirements.
  • Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to manage confidential information.
