Job Description

A community-focused non-profit organization is seeking an experienced HR professional to join their team. This role is responsible for managing core HR functions such as bi-weekly payroll processing, benefits administration, employee onboarding/offboarding, compliance tracking, and supporting employee safety and recruitment. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is detail-oriented, and enjoys being a key resource for both employees and leadership.

please note this role is located in town, but at the end of the year, offices will be moving and located in Kapolei

Hours

Full-time, M-F 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., flexible

Location

Honolulu, Oahu

Pay

$50,000 to $60,000 a year

Responsibilities

  • Process and manage payroll, benefits enrollment, and related transactions.
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding, orientation, and policy communication.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, files, and HRIS data.
  • Support recruitment, job postings, initial interviews, and reference checks.
  • Track and administer leaves of absence, including TDI, FMLA, and HFLL.
  • Manage workers' compensation and incident reporting procedures.
  • Assist with employee relations events and special projects as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal HR and labor regulations.
  • Generate and distribute HR reports and maintain benefits invoicing accuracy.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; college coursework or degree in Human Resources preferred.
  • At least 4 years of HR experience, including payroll and benefits administration.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational ability.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Professional demeanor and reliable attendance are a must.
