Job Description

Seeking an experienced HR Manager for a reputable non-profit organization that serves the Native Hawaiian community. As the HR Manager for this organization, you will take part in strengthening the organizations' HR department by assisting with recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and related duties.

Hours

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Honolulu, Oahu

Responsibilities

  • Enforce HR policies and procedures as outlined in the organizational Employee Handbook to assure equal treatment for all employees.
  • Provide standards and guidelines to assist management in addressing personnel-related situations. Provide advice, assistance and/or training as needed. Assure timely reporting and documentation of such incidents.
  • Assure that the organization adheres to all governmental regulations relative to employment and employees by maintaining an awareness of all EEO and Fair Employment Practices regulations, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all employment records and procedures, and compliance with ERISA reporting and COBRA requirements.
  • Review and develop job descriptions for new positions and update existing descriptions yearly or as job responsibilities change.
  • Carry out recruitment activities: prepare and post vacancy notices; prepare and place newspaper advertisements for open positions; contact or develop other recruitment sources; screen applications and resumes; check and document applicant references.
  • Coordinate employee payroll, timesheets, vacation, and sick leave accrual. Report monthly to the administrative and management team.
  • Oversee new employee orientation and training in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain employee files and records and update accordingly.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in an HR Generalist/Specialist role.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state HR laws and regulations.
  • HR Certification a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
