Job Description

Our client is seeking someone to assist their Help Desk in a full-time position.

The ideal candidate for this role will have help desk support knowledge to successfully troubleshoot any computer equipment and tech/web issues with end users.

Hours

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Location

Sand Island, Honolulu, Oahu

Pay

$19 an hour, Dependent on experience

Responsibilities

  • Respond to phone calls and e-mail messages from end users seeking technical support with hardware, software, networking and other computer related issues.
  • Open trouble tickets in Help Desk ticketing system, track and monitor open tickets until ticket resolution.
  • Diagnose problem and take necessary steps to remedy the problem or route ticket to higher level of support.
  • Install new software releases and system upgrades, resolve software related problems, and perform system backups and recovery.
  • Maintain data files and monitor system configuration to ensure data integrity.
  • Perform routine maintenance of computer equipment and peripherals to ensure proper operation. Check for error messages to detect faulty output or machine stoppage.
  • Monitor office computer network performance, maintain security, and troubleshoot network problems.
  • Support server systems and supporting software.
  • Provide VPN, remote access support and troubleshooting.
  • Provide printer/copier, mobile devices, and video conferencing equipment support.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
  • Provide afterhours support on a rotational basis; including weeknights and weekends.
  • Perform similar and related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and/or are a certified IT Technician (MCSA, CCNA, A+, Network+ Certifications).
  • Preferred 2 years relevant work experience in supporting MS Applications and Windows Operating System.
  • Possess extensive working knowledge with the following: PC hardware support, application support, Microsoft Products (Windows 10, Office Suite).
  • Knowledgeable in various types of equipment and technology such as: Windows 10, Server 2012/2016/2019, Microsoft SQL, Cisco IOS, Microsoft Office, McAfee, HP Scanning technologies, Xerox printers, VPN technologies, cable installs, PowerSell, PowerNet, Insight, TrackMax, RoadNet, Unitrends, Digital Lumen Gonled, VMware, Motorola, Vocollect, Android, and Apple.
