Human Resources Assistant (199027-5)

Seeking an HR Assistant for a full-time role with a consulting firm in Honolulu. This role will be tasked with a broad range of human resources-related duties such as maintaining employee records, assisting with benefits administration, and processing payroll. To be successful in this position, candidates should have at least two years of HR experience and good knowledge of labor laws and payroll practices.

Hours

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00 pm, additional hours as necessary to meet business needs.

Location

Honolulu, Oahu

Pay

$30,000 to $45,000 a year

Responsibilities

  • Support all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.
  • Maintain digital and electronic records of employees.
  • Serve as point of contact with benefit vendors and administrators.
  • Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, performing reference checks, and issuing employment contracts.
  • Oversee the completion of compensation and benefit documentation.
  • Assist with performance management procedures.
  • Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events and maintain agendas.
  • Coordinate training sessions and seminars.
  • Perform orientations and update records of new staff.
  • Produce and submit reports on general HR activity.
  • Process payroll and resolve any payroll errors.
  • Complete termination paperwork and exit interviews.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practice.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience as an HR Assistant.
  • Exposure to labor law, employment equity regulations, and payroll practices.
  • Effective HR administration and people management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
