Job Description

Do you like helping people and solving problems? Here is the perfect opportunity! A health care company in Downtown Honolulu is looking to fill a Member Advocate position. In this role, you will process correspondences and complaints by researching fitting solutions. You will be required to interact with customers and external vendors such as pharmacy partners and employer groups and meet deadlines, so we are looking for task-oriented candidates with professional communication skills.


Full-time, Monday to Thursday 7:00am-4:00pm, 7:30am-4:30pm, or 8:00am-5:00pm; Friday 8:00am-4:00pm

$40,000 a year


  • Document, research and investigate issues received by the customer service department, including complaints submitted by members, employer groups, clients, and providers.
  • Respond to correspondence in accordance with management response within allotted time frames.
  • Ensure all complaints and correspondence are logged.
  • Generate complaint and inquiry database reports. Review reports to ensure timely follow-up and completion.
  • Remain current on all changes to policies, procedures and product information to accurately and consistently respond to complaints and inquiries.
  • Assist with enrolling members in pharmacy co-pay assistance programs.
  • Handle other related duties as assigned.


  • Prior experience in medical investigation, health plan administration, customer service, or a related area preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and research fitting solutions for inquiries and complaints.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
