Job Description

Immediate opportunity for an experienced Pension & Annuity Supervisor to join an established Honolulu organization specializing in the administration of employee benefit plan trust funds. The Pension & Annuity Supervisor will oversee, develop, and support department staff while helping ensure responsibilities and projects are completed accurately and on time. The position also works closely with legal counsel, plan actuaries, Trustees, and other fund professionals.

Full-time, Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:00pm

Pay

$70,000 a year

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, develop, train, and support Pension & Annuity department staff.
  • Process pension and annuity benefits.
  • Assign, coordinate, and monitor department responsibilities and workflow.
  • Perform fund-related calculations in accordance with plan requirements.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel, plan actuaries, Trustees, and other fund professionals.
  • Develop staff training and maintain department procedures and documentation.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews and establish performance goals.
  • Assist staff with resolving client and fund professional inquiries or concerns.
  • Assist with regulatory notices, client mailings, and benefit-related projects.
  • Provide support to processors and customer service representatives.
  • Attend benefit fairs and serve as backup for client meetings.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, professional training, and relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of pension and annuity benefit rules and regulations.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Strong math skills and ability to perform benefit-related calculations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and 10-key.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively organize, prioritize, and oversee multiple responsibilities.
  • Occasional neighbor island and mainland travel is required.
