Job Description

A reputable Honolulu non-profit organization is seeking a Program Administrator. This position is at the senior administration level and provides direct oversight on all of the non-profit's programs and related resources, including staff, budgets, program development and implementation. Additionally, the Program Administrator is involved in grant writing and oversight, ensuring that milestones, measurements, expenditures and reports are in compliance with the grant contracts.

Qualified candidates will have their Master's degree in social work or related field, and will have a minimum of 2 years experience in grant writing and budget development and monitoring. Apply today for immediate consideration.

$70,000 to $75,000 a year, Dependent on experience


  • Collaborate with program staff and community members to conduct an on-going assessment of community needs that help determine the agency?s approach to community-based services, support, and programs/activities.
  • Collaborate with program directors, managers, and staff to develop and implement programs and activities that meet the needs and interests of the communities the agency serves, and are in alignment with the agency?s mission.
  • Research available grants that may be suitable for new and/or current programs.
  • Seek, write, and submit grants proposals to private foundations and government agencies ensuring that the grant purpose, milestones, performance measures and budgets are reasonable and attainable by program staff.
  • Monitor progress of grant milestones, performance measures and budgets throughout duration of grant periods.
  • Ensure that grant revenue and expenditures are reconciled.
  • Assist the program directors and managers in development of their annual program budgets.
  • Assist the Business Office and Fund Developer and in consultation with the program directors and managers in the development of budgets for grant proposals.
  • Assist with the development of the annual agency budget.
  • Provide direct supervision to the mangers/directors of the agency?s programs.
  • Conduct annual employee evaluation for all direct supervisees.
  • Prepare timely and complete reports for the Executive Director regarding program operations.
  • Participate in the preparation and oversight of program budgets.
  • Review and approve program-related check requests, employee leave forms, new program proposals, and other program-related documents/paperwork.


  • Master?s degree in social work or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in grant writing and awarding of grants.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in budget development and monitoring.
  • 3 to 4 years of experience working with at-risk populations in social services/work, community organizations, or related field (1 to 2 years should be in an administrative capacity).
  • Proficient in computers, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access), data tracking, and relevant software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, some evenings and weekends.
