Job Description

A local real estate company that is overseeing multiple large properties on Oahu is immediately hiring an experienced Accountant to join their team. This full-time role will be responsible for preparing financial statements, filing tax returns, assisting with AP/AR, and other full-cycle accounting processes.

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Pay

$60,000 to $65,000 a year

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Prepare Hawaii General Excise Tax returns.
  • Participate in the full-cycle accounting process (accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, etc.).
  • Generate Owners' Statements - calculate and pay monthly owner distributions in a timely manner.
  • Prepare bank account and general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Prepare adjusting journal entries.
  • Assist with month-end reconciliations and year-end closings.
  • Maintain mortgage, tax, owner, and insurance payment records and make timely payments.
  • Maintain leasing documents and tenant profiles.
  • Communicate (both in verbal and written form) with clients, vendors, tenants, and banking contacts.
  • Prepare appropriate schedules, reports, and 1099?s as requested by clients and partners.
  • Assist CPAs with tax return preparation.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by CEO, CFO, and property managers.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three to five years responsible accounting experience including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reports.
  • Understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Knowledge of computerized accounting but must be able to do a manual set of books. Experience with accounting software, such as AppFolio, QuickBooks, Yardi preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to keep company and client matters strictly confidential.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills.
  • Flu and Covid-19 vaccination required by client for this position. This is not an ALTRES Staffing requirement.
