Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and strategic Purchasing Manager to oversee vendor relationships, sourcing initiatives, and contract performance. This role plays a key part in ensuring procurement activities align with company goals while delivering cost-effective, compliant, and high-quality outcomes.

As a Purchasing Manager, you will lead sourcing strategies and manage vendor partnerships to support operational and project needs. You’ll be responsible for evaluating suppliers, negotiating agreements, and ensuring all procurement activities meet internal standards and regulatory requirements. In this role, you’ll collaborate across departments to support purchasing operations, resolve discrepancies, and maintain strong vendor performance. You’ll also oversee contract processes from development through execution, ensuring terms are followed and risks are minimized.

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm

$79,000 to $101,000 a year

Responsibilities

  • Drive sourcing strategies that optimize spend and improve vendor performance.
  • Lead competitive bidding processes and negotiate pricing and contract terms.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure contract compliance and mitigate risk through careful review of terms and conditions.
  • Partner with internal teams (legal, finance, operations) to support contract execution and issue resolution.
  • Utilize systems such as SAP and contract management tools to track pricing, agreements, and vendor compliance.
  • Address and resolve purchasing or invoicing discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Support audit readiness and adhere to SOX and ethical standards.
  • Contribute to special projects and emergency response efforts as needed.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or contract administration.
  • Background in utilities, construction, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of sourcing strategies, contract management, and procurement processes.
  • Familiarity with systems such as SAP and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities with attention to detail and accuracy.
