This position plays a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the property management operations. Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm

Pay

$50,000 to $65,000 a year

Responsibilities

  • Manage all cash receipts, including accurately inputting, scanning, posting, and adjusting transactions within AppFolio property management software.
  • Process accounts payable invoices in AppFolio, including obtaining appropriate approvals, issuing vendor payments and checks, and maintaining organized financial records.
  • Prepare and calculate monthly owner proceeds and assist with the preparation and filing of General Excise Tax (GET) returns.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledgers, monthly ledgers, bank accounts, and financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Reconcile cash receipts and disbursements to corresponding income and expense accounts on a regular basis.
  • Assist with monthly and year-end closing procedures, including account reconciliations and financial reporting.
  • Support day-to-day property management accounting functions, including rental agreements, tenant ledgers, security deposits, move-in/move-out accounting, and related administrative tasks.
  • Communicate professionally with vendors, tenants, owners, and internal team members regarding financial and accounting matters.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential financial records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with audits, reporting requests, and special accounting projects as needed.
  • Perform additional administrative, accounting, and operational duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping, accounting, or property management accounting experience required.
  • Experience with AppFolio property management software strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, accounts payable, and financial reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in financial data entry and reporting.
  • Reliable attendance with a strong work ethic and commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with team members, vendors, tenants, and clients.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to follow directions, work independently, and take initiative when appropriate.
