Job Description

A local insurance agency is immediately hiring a full-time Risk Management Consultant. This role will mainly focus on supporting and growing the department and the company by providing insurance-related risk control services and technical assistance to address the needs of clients.

The ideal candidate will not only possess the ability to effectively work with insurance carrier loss control representatives and maintain direct responsibility for accounts, it will also include everything from understanding and evaluating insurance policies, assessing risks, and compiling underwriting information.

Hours

Full-time, 8:00am-5:00pm

Location

Honolulu, Oahu

Responsibilities

• Recognize and identify existing or potential hazards and exposures.
• Evaluate insureds? or prospects? exposures and processes for opportunities in loss prevention and loss mitigation.
• Develop and effectively communicate corrective recommendations.
• Compile and submit appropriate reports in a timely and complete manner.
• Provide insureds with applicable Loss Control information through meetings, presentations, handouts, and reports.
• Assist and advise insureds in organizing and conducting their safety programs, including assisting insureds in organizing safety meetings, and working with management and supervisory personnel in the area of Codes, Standards, and safety requirements.
• Participate in developing and speaking at training sessions. Assist in developing department resources to support service activity.
• Assist other employees when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• College degree in an appropriate field of study (e.g. Safety and Health).
• Minimum 5 years comparable technical experience and/or training in safety, health, and/or insurance; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Valid driver's license, clean abstract, and access to reliable transportation.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to handle all situations with clients, customers, co-workers and the general public in a positive and helpful manner.
• Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Availability for possible travel to the neighbor islands and out of state.
