If you enjoy being on the move and are interested in risk management, our entry-level in-house Safety Consultant position may be a good match for you.

You will join our Risk Management team and be tasked with promoting safety within the workplace. This means effectively communicating with clients and employees through safety assessments and training to help them recognize potential hazards and risks.

We are looking for someone we can invest in and grow to become an expert in many general safety topics.

This role will require you to speak to groups of clients and employees, so we need someone who is comfortable and can communicate clearly in front of crowds. You should also be CPR certified or willing to be certified upon starting.

Hours

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Location

Honolulu, Oahu

Responsibilities

  • Inspect facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards.
  • Conduct pre-investigations and assist with the preparation of material and evidence for use in hearings, lawsuits, and/or insurance investigations.
  • Perform duties associated with emergency response, including security, safety, environmental, etc.
  • Maintain timely communications with Safety Manager and appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with planning and coordinating training sessions.
  • Gather appropriate materials for training sessions, assist with transporting materials, and set-up.
  • Organize training manuals, reference library, testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids, and other training materials.
  • Assist and participate in training sessions.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Effective communication skills to speak before groups, clients and employees.
  • Valid driver's license, a personal vehicle, and a clean abstract.
  • CPR/AED Certified Trainer or willing to become certified.
  • BLS Certified Trainer.
  • First Aid Certified Trainer.
  • Availability to travel inter-island.
