Job Description

The Hawai'i Sales Manager is responsible for leading sales efforts, expanding the customer base, and managing key client relationships within the ocean freight and logistics industry. This role focuses on driving revenue growth through strategic planning, customer engagement, and market development while working closely with internal teams to deliver effective transportation solutions across Hawai'i and the Mainland.

Hours

Full-time, Monday - Friday 7:30a.m. - 4:30p.m.

Airport Area, Honolulu, Oahu

Pay

$70,000 a year

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in developing, managing, and expanding the company’s customer base throughout Hawai'i.
  • Manage and grow key sales accounts while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales and business plans to achieve monthly and annual revenue targets.
  • Forecast sales performance and prepare annual budgets.
  • Negotiate rates, terms, and service agreements with customers.
  • Maintain and update pricing structures and sales documentation for internal and external use.
  • Analyze customer sales data and tonnage history to support decision-making and business development.
  • Build strong, long-term customer relationships through consistent communication and service.
  • Prepare professional proposals, reports, correspondence, and other sales-related documents.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to support inbound and outbound operations, shipping documentation, inventory processes, claims, and invoicing.
  • Travel as needed to the Mainland and Neighbor Islands to support sales efforts and customer relationships.
  • Train and support team members on sales processes and operational coordination.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the General Manager.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in sales leadership within the logistics, transportation, or freight industry.
  • Strong understanding of ocean freight operations, carrier tariffs, and warehousing-related processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, including listening, speaking, and professional writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships, negotiate effectively, and close business.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to utilize data and internal systems to evaluate customer performance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
