Job Description

A locally owned company is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to manage daily accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. This role oversees bookkeeping functions, streamlines processes, and produces detailed financial and performance reports on a regular basis.

The ideal candidate has advanced bookkeeping knowledge, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This position also provides oversight to bookkeeping staff and supports management with reliable financial insights and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all bookkeeping and accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with best practices.
  • Generate comprehensive weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial and performance reports.
  • Maintain precise inventory tracking and reconciliations using QuickBooks.
  • Perform regular bookkeeping tasks, including invoicing, accounts receivable (A/R), and accounts payable (A/P).
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements and verify supporting documentation for all transactions.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for efficient recordkeeping and audit readiness.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline workflows and enhance reporting accuracy.
  • Support payroll processing and vendor payments as needed.
  • Provide supervision and training to bookkeeping or administrative staff.
  • Contribute to a positive workplace culture that encourages collaboration, accuracy, and accountability.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive bookkeeping or accounting experience; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop or Online) and Microsoft Excel required.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping practices, and financial reporting.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage high email volume using Gmail or Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
