Job Description

A financing company is seeking a Senior Refinancing Mortgage Consultant to manage a high volume of loan originations. This role is supported by company-provided leads, allowing consultants to focus on production rather than prospecting. They are looking for a high-volume producer capable of closing a minimum of 10 loans per month, with top earners reaching 60–70, to join their team. This 100% remote position requires the employee to reside in Hawaii due to operational requirements.

The successful candidate will possess a sophisticated understanding of the refinance market and the ability to manage a dense pipeline with precision. This position offers a competitive base salary of $55,000 paired with a bonus potential up to $350,000 annually for top-tier producers.

Hours

Full-time, Shifts between 4am-1pm, 5am-2pm, or 6am-3pm and one Saturday per month

Responsibilities

  • Interview potential and current clients to understand their lending needs, including first-time mortgages or refinance of existing loans.
  • Explain the differences between and approval requirements of various types of mortgages; prepare and present a lending package based on client specifications.
  • Assist clients with completion of mortgage applications, inspecting completed documents for accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Review loan applications, gather credit histories and reports, and assess applicants’ capacity to repay and default risk.
  • Assess and grant or reject mortgage applications based on predetermined requirements.
  • View property for real estate purchase or refinance.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends and developments in the local real estate market, current and predicted lending rates, and changes in rules, regulations, and best practices of various mortgages.
  • Demonstrate the ability to use independent judgment and critical thinking skills in matters of significant impact.
  • Work with the processing staff and borrower to ensure the loans are completed in a timely manner.
  • Report daily to management on current production and goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 5 - 6+ years of recent loan origination experience preferred.
  • Proven track record in high-volume environments (10–70 closings per month).
  • Strong focus on Refinancing is preferred; Purchase-heavy experience is also welcome.
  • Candidates from "self-gen" environments with lower volume will be considered if they possess 6+ years of experience.

Licensing and Education

  • Required State Mortgage Licensing (Mortgage Loan Originator License) in Hawaii and/or Colorado preferred, but the company is open to any active state license and assist with additional state licensing if necessary.
  • Minimum High School diploma.

Technical Skills

  • Thorough understanding of FHA, VA, Fannie Mae, construction, and conventional loans.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide sound advice.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and standard lending software.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
