We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to manage, maintain, and operate our IT infrastructure. This role is responsible for the reliability, performance, and day-to-day operation of on-premises and virtualized environments, including VMware vSphere, Windows and Linux servers, Docker environments, advanced firewalls, VPNs, and Web Application Firewalls (WAFs). The ideal candidate is hands-on, operationally strong, and comfortable supporting business-critical systems.
After probation and at discretion of manager, this position has potential to move to a hybrid work from home 2 days a week.
Infrastructure & Systems Management
Administer and maintain VMware vSphere infrastructure, including host management, VM provisioning, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
Install, configure, manage, and support Windows Server environments (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, file and print services).
Administer and support Linux servers (e.g., RHEL, Ubuntu, or equivalent).
Administer and support Docker environments on Linux servers, including host configuration, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
Perform system patching, upgrades, maintenance, and lifecycle management.
Monitor system health, availability, and performance; troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues.
Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades and improvements.
Network & Platform Operations
Configure, manage, and maintain advanced firewalls (e.g., next-generation firewalls), including rule sets, NAT, routing, and logging.
Administer VPN solutions (site-to-site and remote access).
Manage and maintain Web Application Firewalls (WAFs) to support application availability and protection.
Maintain reliable and secure network connectivity across environments.
Backup, Recovery & Reliability
Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Perform backup validation, restore testing, and disaster recovery exercises.
Ensure system availability, redundancy, and recoverability.
Automation, Documentation & Support
Develop and maintain automation using PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting tools.
Create and maintain system documentation, diagrams, and operational runbooks.
Provide Tier 2 / Tier 3 support for infrastructure-related incidents and service requests.
Participate in on-call rotations and scheduled after-hours maintenance.
