Staff Accountant (224924-04)
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations for an assisted living facility. This role handles accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting while collaborating across departments to ensure accurate and timely financial records.

Hours
Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm (can be flexible)
Location
Honolulu, Oahu
Pay
$60,000 to $70,000 a year, depending on experience
Responsibilities
- Process vendor invoices and payments, reconcile vendor statements, and maintain vendor information and current Certificates of Insurance.
- Manage resident billing, cash receipts, monthly ACH transactions, and trust-to-operating fund transfers; complete daily census reporting and reconciliations.
- Prepare payroll journal entries, manual checks, and employee reimbursements; upload payroll data and reconcile quarterly benefit reports.
- Reconcile general ledger, bank, and credit card accounts.
- Prepare recurring and prepaid expense journal entries, maintain prepaid and accrual schedules, and review monthly financial packets for accuracy and completeness.
- Support credit card program administration, including expense reporting and data imports.
- Prepare monthly General Excise Tax filings and payments and year-end 1099 forms; assist with budgeting, year-end tax preparation, and audits.
- Coordinate with Business Office Managers and Administrators on accurate billing and vendor payments, and provide Home Office administrative support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year university or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Proficiency with business, accounting, and office software and equipment.
- Accounting degree, three years of related accounting experience, and one year processing high-volume AP, AR, and billing transactions.
- Familiarity with PointClickCare, SAGE Intacct, Solver, CentreSuite, and Align.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines.
- An adaptable attitude and eagerness to learn.
- Ability to comply with a pre-employment State and Federal background check and drug screen.
