Job Description

Well established freight services and warehouse storage company is seeking a Transportation Clerk to support both inbound and outbound logistics operations. This role plays a vital part in ensuring timely and accurate processing of shipping and receiving documentation, customer communication, and data entry. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and a strong communicator who can manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Hours

Full-time, 7:30am-4:00pm

Location

Airport Area, Honolulu, Oahu

Pay

$18 an hour

Responsibilities

  • Check receiving cards, emails, and faxes.
  • Notify customers of product availability via phone or email.
  • Call customers at the service window (backup coverage).
  • Match delivery tickets with completed picks.
  • Issue and write pallet credit slips.
  • Schedule deliveries and type bills of lading.
  • Book outbound pallets via Matson website (LA, Oakland, Seattle).
  • File PODs and track missing documents in Excel.
  • Copy, email, and fax POD information to customers.
  • Manage Freezy and Eastbound consolidation flows.
  • Track Matson containers.
  • File completed manifests with truckers.
  • Fax/email completed warehouse receipts to customers.
  • Enter receiving cards for VIP and Suisan.
  • Help prepare labels for storage customers.
  • Prepare and process dry packets for International Express.
  • Verify and process returned dry packets.
  • Manage incoming messages, emails, and faxes.
  • Learn to enter outside receiving cards and schedule containers.

Qualifications

  • Basic math, reading, and writing skills.
  • Strong computer and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Well-organized and self-motivated.
  • Able to work with all levels of management.
  • Proficient in Excel and Word; familiarity with manual typewriters preferred.
