Job Description

Excellent night shift opportunity with a top-notch locally owned and operated distributor. The Transportation Supervisor plans, organizes, and manages the work of the Transportation staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements.

Since this role will be overseeing the work of multiple staff, we are looking for candidates with at least 3 years of delivery route experience. This is directly working with Router/Dispatchers, CDL Drivers, and Non-CDL Drivers.

Hours

Full-time, 8:00pm-5:00am

Location

Sand Island, Honolulu, Oahu

Pay

$25 to $27 an hour

Responsibilities

  • Direct activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking delivery vehicles.
  • Plan, organize, and manage the work of Transportation staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements.
  • Recommend new hires, promotions, terminations, and transfers for the purpose of maintaining staffing needs and productivity of the workforce.
  • Respond to emergency situations during and after standard hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Facilitate and/or participate in meetings and workshops for the purpose of identifying issues and developing recommendations.
  • Conduct and/or attend routine Driver and Safety meetings.
  • Assist with interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; counseling employees, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

  • At least 3-8 years of delivery route experience and familiarity with local roadways and townships within the route area.
  • Minimum 1-year of distribution or warehouse experience, preferably in foodservice.
  • Valid Driver?s License, preferably Class A or B, clean traffic abstract, and a Medical Examiner?s Certificate (PUC Card) required.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with route customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Must have the ability to calmly and efficiently handle customer complaints, order discrepancies, and picking/loading errors.
