Underwriting Coordinator (200438-5)

A highly organized and detail-oriented individual is needed to fill an Underwriting Coordinator position in Honolulu. As the Underwriting Coordinator, you can expect to handle all aspects of enrollments, renewals, and rate negotiations of clients.

Top candidates for this role will have strong abilities in communication, Microsoft Office programs, and time management.


Full-time, Monday to Thursday, 7:30am-4:30pm or 8:00am-5:00pm; Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm


Honolulu, Oahu


$15 to $16 an hour


  • Review, process, and distribute quotes to the sales support department.
  • Maintain a database of preliminary quotes.
  • Review and process enrollment documentation.
  • Distribute authorized final rates.
  • Update and maintain the underwriting database and enrollment log.
  • Review and process applications.
  • Prepare and send letters and forms.
  • Submit renewal renegotiation requests.
  • Work closely with sales, billing, customer service, and other departments.
  • Perform additional research.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • College degree; three years of experience in underwriting, administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Ability to meet important deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Medical terminology and insurance knowledge a plus.
