Job Description

Provide training to the staff of a well-known local distribution company! The Operations Trainer is responsible for creating, conducting, and managing instructor-led training (ILT) courses relating to operations, including technical processes and safety. The Operations Trainer will identify, document, update and publish standard protocols for all warehouse functions. During training downtime, the Operations Trainer may assist with other projects as needed by the department.

Full-time, 7:00am-4:00pm

Location

Sand Island, Honolulu, Oahu

Pay

$25 to $29 an hour

Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead trainer for all operations training programs including, but not limited to: Container Unloading and Receiving; Replenishment and Putaway; Will-call and Driver Check-In; Forklift and pallet jack operations; Safety; Supervisory training; Warehouse overview and introduction.
  • Document operational processes and create standardized protocols for staff to follow.
  • Conduct process and safety audits as a means to reinforce learning and provide on-the-job training in order to increase order accuracy and productivity.
  • Help facilitate the onboarding of new employees to the team to ensure proper integration into job functions and work environment, while reducing turnover ratios.
  • Proactively search for ways to deploy quick bite learning to existing staff and management of the warehouse team.
  • Manage all learning data and ensure accurate record keeping.
  • Assist operations leadership in measuring effectiveness of training programs through scorecards and productivity measurements.
  • Assist with other projects during training downtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of training or warehouse experience, preferable in the foodservice industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software.
  • Valid driver?s license, good driving record, and use of own vehicle.
  • Proven presentation skills using visual aids and associated equipment.
  • Proven writing skills; including proposals, step-by-step instructions, marketing, and problem/complaint responses.
  • Able to be mobile and serve all locations (including neighbor islands).
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 75 lbs.
