Hours

Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Keauhou, Big Island

Pay

$25 an hour

Responsibilities

  • Performs clerical support functions including filing, scheduling, and documentation of appointments or referrals, completes medical release forms, etc. in the computer system.
  • Pulls and prepares medical records/charts the day before the patient’s appointment.
  • Conduct patient interviews to obtain accurate demographic and insurance information.
  • Verify insurance benefits and eligibility for primary and secondary carriers.
  • Enter and update patient information in the computer system.
  • Collect deposits and secure signatures on necessary forms.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient and employee information.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience in clerical work, data input, customer service, or related fields; preferably in a medical setting.
  • Proficiency in English grammar, spelling, and arithmetic.
  • Proficient typing skills.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Windows-based environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures preferred.
  • Ability to comply with a pre-employment drug test and State and Federal background check.
  • TB clearance required.
