The Farm Manager will act as a representative of Pono Pacific, with a primary focus of managing the operations at a diversified agricultural operation on the North Shore of Oahu. A Farm Crew Member will act in the best interest of the company, in the best interest of the employees, and act in a fair, safe, effective, and legal manner.

 

The Farm Crew Member will work directly under the direction of the Pono’s Farm Manager. The Farm Crew Member’s responsibilities will include day to day upkeep and maintenance of a diversified agricultural operation. He/She should possess a high degree of professionalism, leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

 

A Farm Crew Member will carry out general field work on the North Shore of Oʻahu under close supervision by the Farm Manager.

 

Experience is preferred in the following areas:

·         Irrigation installation and maintenance.

·         Fence construction and maintenance.

·         Field data collection/recording and operating GPS devices.

·         Herbicide application.

·         Other general field work using hand and power tools.

 

Required Qualifications

·         Possess a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

·         Give 100% effort each day.

·         Be responsible and follow directions while working in small teams or independently.

·         Be able to pass a background check and/or gain military base access clearance.

·         Be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.

·         Openly communicate observations/questions to fellow Farm Crew Members and Farm Manager.

·         Have experience utilizing topographic maps and GPS/GIS systems (preferred).

 

Other Duties May Require

·         Be able to camp in remote areas for multiple days at a time and/or travel occasionally.

·         Be experienced, willing, and able to perform physically challenging work in harsh conditions for 8‐10 hours a day.

·         Be able to pass a background check and/or gain military base access clearance.
