Commercial Project Manager

The Commercial Project Manager plans logistics, directs, coordinates and completes activities concerned with the development of PV projects in the Hawaiian Islands.  Participates in the conceptual development of PV projects and oversees its organization, scheduling, and implementation. The Project Manager is also responsible for direct contact with the customer throughout the life of the project. In addition to project managing, this position is responsible for providing support managing expectations between customer, development team, construction team and service team at Rising Sun.

Scope of responsibilities:

• Manage the entire lifecycle of PV project from customer contract signing, construction, and inspections.
• Coordinates with Manager and Sales on project milestone billings.
• Participate in pre-design discussion for projects with the development team. 
• Participate in commercial development project meetings. 
• Act as a liaison between development, operations, construction, and service teams at Rising Sun. 
• Ensures projects are tracked and completed through project management software or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
• Enter or ensure all project data gets put into the Google Drive project folder.
• Collect and understand customer expectations and assist with meeting those expectations.
• Assist with preparing RFPs for each project if outsourcing. 
• Prepare weekly progress reports to update development team and customer on field progress during construction phase. 
• Ensure project is installed based on our quality standards and adhering to initial designs OR ensure change orders are prepared and executed for any changes, and as built plans are created.
• Verify completion checklists are ready to be entered post-construction. 
• Let commercial development team know when project is ready for a site walk post-installation.
• Work with service team to get customer monitoring set up, save documentation in google drive so it is available in the future. 
• Ensure warranty notebook documents are up to date and valid in project Google Drive folder.
• Be available to fix small issues at installed sites as needed.
• Follow and promote company policies as well as follow standard operating procedures. 
• Manage and build positive relationships with customers, vendors, subcontractors, engineers, and other teammates.
• Reports any issues encountered throughout the job, works with operations to find solutions and informs the development team. Have a sound understanding of PV system design. 
• Have a sound understanding of PV system design. 
• Other Duties as assigned per management.

• Excellent communication skills, patience, attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure and heavy work load 
• 5+ years of experience in customer service field 
• Critical and analytical thinking skills 
• Clean driving record and valid driver's license 
• Self-directed 
• Leadership 
• Experience with Project Tracking Software:  Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Asana
• Mathematical skills, algebra, and geometry
• Basic PV design knowledge with desire to learn
• Project Management, BA and/or minimum of 2 years related professional experience. 
• Basic analytical skills, and administration skills 
• Experience and knowledge in Federal and Hawaii State Law including: EEO, ADA, OSHA, TDI, FMLA, WC, FLSA, UI and Labor Relations 
• Proficient at using Microsoft suite and Google suite.
