Job Position:  Heavy Equipment Mechanic


Job Description:  Seeking for motivating and mechanically skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to be responsible for the maintenance and repair of large equipment such as bulldozers, graders, excavators, loaders, haul trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, tractors, trailers, water well drill rigs, concrete boom pump trucks and paving machines.

Qualifications to be a Heavy Equipment Mechanic: 

- Troubleshoot, perform inspections, diagnoses, and repair of electrical, hydraulics, suspensions, brakes, and air systems on vehicles and heavy equipment.

- Ability to read schematics for electrical and hydraulic systems and have an in-depth understanding of diagnosing and repairing of these systems.

- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensures that work meets company/manufacturer specifications.

- Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.

- Perform routine welding and fabrication work for field repairs on heavy equipment as needed.


About You: The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

- Must have reliable transportation to get to work.

- Thorough knowledge of the standard practices, tools, materials, and equipment used in the repair and maintenance of a variety of gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.

- Follow directions well and perform tasks accurately with attention to detail.

- Communicates well verbally to convey information effectively.

- Skilled in using hand tools, operating mechanical equipment, welding and fabricating.

- Must be able to climb on, off, and under various pieces of equipment, and physically access all parts of equipment.
