Job Description

Whether working in service, new construction, remodels, or retrofit environments, our team is expected to deliver high-quality work, communicate professionally, and take pride in every job.We are seeking State of Hawaii Licensed Journeyman Plumbers who can perform at a high level across multiple scopes of work and contribute to the development of apprentices and the strength of our team.
Position Summary
The primary responsibility of the Journeyman Plumber is to independently perform plumbing work including troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and repair across a variety of project types.

This role requires strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to execute work efficiently while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship and professionalism.

Journeyman Plumbers will also support and mentor apprentices, helping to develop the next generation of skilled tradespeople.

Scope of Work

Journeyman Plumbers at Maui Plumbing Inc. are expected to operate across:

  • Service Plumbing – Diagnose and resolve issues, customer communication, system repairs
  • New Construction – Rough-in, top-out, system layout and installation
  • Remodels & Retrofits – System modifications, re-piping, upgrades
  • Specialty Work – Drain cleaning, hydro-jetting, CCTV inspections, system diagnostics
  • Water Systems – Installation and repair of electric, gas, solar, and tankless water heaters
Requirements
  • State of Hawaii Journeyman Plumber License (Required)
  • Minimum 5 years of plumbing experience (or equivalent to achieve licensure)
  • Strong working knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and methods
  • Ability to read plans, troubleshoot systems, and execute work independently
  • Skilled in use of plumbing tools and equipment (hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment)
  • Valid driver’s license with clean abstract
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotations as needed
