Material Handler and Warehouse

Job Description

This Material Handler is responsible for maintaining the flow of materials from the vendeors and suppliers
to the jobsite in a systematic and predictable fashion.

Accountabilities

Shipping/Deliveries
 Mitigates field personnel time in the warehouse as a priority. Is proactive in keeping field personnel
out of the warehouse through email/phone coordination and delivering material to the jobsite when
cost effective.
 Unloads and stores materials, tools and equipment after delivery to jobsite wherever practical.
 Communicate and coordinate with field personnel and purchaser for required material, tools &
equipment.
 Receiving and delivery of required material, tools & equipment for jobs.
 Handles all returns or shipment of materials, tools and equipment out of the office/warehouse.
Receiving
 Receives, inspects and tracks Material, Tools & Equipment received at the warehouse (and jobsites
when needed).
 Updates the status of material deliveries to the purchaser, PM, Foreman, and Accounting.
 Keeps a log with the location of the materials, tools and equipment.
 Recycles all recyclable material and insures all hazardous materials from the field are disposed of in
compliance with the project specifications or relevant regulatory authority. Consults with the field and
project management as needed for direction.
Warehousing/Storage
 Maintains compliance with all OSHA, Company, and Customer-specific safety requirements.
 Maintain correct inventory of material, tools & equipment.
 Operate material handling equipment (i.e. forklifts, hand trucks etc.).
 Maintains tools and equipment.
 Organize material, tools and equipment for storage in warehouse in a neat and orderly way.
Field/Prefab
 Works with the field and prefab manager as needed.
Other
 Maintains compliance with company policies.
 Performs other duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications

 Familiarity with various electrical materials and nomenclature related to materials.
 Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
 Able to safely and efficiently use basic hand and power tools.
 Able to efficiently & safely operate a forklifts, all terrain lifts, and company vehicles.
