Job Description

Kona Brewing Hawaii has an internal opening for an Food and Beverage Events Experience Manager in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.  The Food and Beverage Events Experience Manager has a broad range of responsibilities including operations management, event sales and service, tour management, loyalty marketing for multi-unit, and multi-island operations.  These are the character traits that will lead to success; an energetic and enthusiastic sales orientation; both hunter and gatherer.  A passion for creativity, analysis, and the ability to leverage data for insights and decision making in a meticulous and detail-oriented manner.


Essential Functions and Basic Duties

Support the company’s Statement of Purpose and Values.

Support company’s best practices for safety initiatives, and OSHA compliance.  Supports safetyprograms, policies, and procedures.

Prospecting new business/ music/ tour groups – leveraging grass roots, and social media.

Partnering with local and national contacts to bring entertainment, music, activities to both the breweryand pub spaces.

Manages the project timeline and keeps activity logs to track project effectiveness.

Prepares and implements a budget based on estimates, conducts cost analysis, estimating expectedcosts for the project.

Acts as a liaison between company, customers, stakeholders, and vendors.

Conduct market research to keep our event and menu pricing in step with today’s local market.

Work with local vendors to create a menu of options to enhance the events experience.

Gathering information about the client’s objectives, budget, and preferences.

Creating schedules of all activities for staff to follow during events.

Overseeing tours, servers, kitchen staff, cleaning crews and other workers who will set up for, workduring or clean up after the event.

Liaising with marketing and PR colleagues to promote the event (if in-house and ticketed).

Performing post-event evaluation; including data entry and analysis and producing reports for eventstakeholders.



Required Experience:

3 – 5 years of catering event sales/planning/banquet and restaurant operations experience, established book of business, knowledge of local communities and vendor partners.



-          Grow tour revenue through package creation to achieve targets

-          Build and create catering operations business for KBH


-          Assist in leadership of company initiatives at both pub locations



Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Psychology, Business Administration, or hospitality focused.  Sales, catering, and operations experience preferred.

Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Strong communications, writing, presentation and public speaking

Partner/Vendor contract development and event permitting

Reports to: Director of Restaurant and Retail Operations


Pay Grade:  Base Salary + Commission
