Role Overview:

The Territory Sales Representative is responsible for managing and growing a defined customer base within an assigned geographic area. This is a relationship-driven, target-focused role requiring a high level of professionalism, initiative, and responsiveness. Success in this position depends on the ability to understand customer needs, provide tailored solutions, and manage highly nuanced conversations with sound judgment and strategic follow-through. Representatives are expected to drive revenue growth while upholding the company’s commitment to sustainability, service, and long-term customer partnerships.


Role Objectives:

Generate new business and grow existing customer accounts by building relationships, identifying product opportunities, and providing personalized support. Deliver consistent, data-informed sales activity to meet revenue goals and customer service standards.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of active accounts and prospect for new business within the assigned territory.
  • Maintain a regular cadence of customer visits, calls, and email communications.
  • Understand customer needs and propose product solutions from the company’s catalog.
  • Provide pricing, samples, and product education to facilitate ordering decisions.
  • Prepare and send quotes to key decision makers.
  • Perform consistent follow ups to ensure order accuracy and satisfaction.
  • Monitor order patterns and proactively flag changes, potential issues, or opportunities to the operations or purchasing teams.
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities to increase revenue and expand product adoption.
  • Maintain accurate notes in the CRM or designated sales tracking system.
  • Obtain product usage projections and provide to purchasing department to ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained for ongoing usage to new customers.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (Customer Care, Purchasing, and Warehouse) to ensure smooth delivery and customer experience.
  • Assist with resolution of customer service issues by acting as a liaison and advocate.
  • Maintain awareness of local competitors, pricing trends, and market dynamics.
  • Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets as defined by leadership.
  • Attend relevant trade shows, industry events, and promotional campaigns as a company representative.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of sales experience, preferably in distribution, foodservice, or packaging.
  • Demonstrated success in managing a sales territory or independent account portfolio.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in sales tools such as CRM platforms, Excel, and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a flexible, self-directed schedule.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel interisland as needed.
  • A proactive, customer-first mindset and solutions-oriented approach.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of sustainable packaging products or experience in eco-conscious industries.
  • Familiarity with Hawaii’s hospitality, restaurant, and retail markets.
  • Background in consultative selling or technical product sales.
  • Experience working with purchasing managers, chefs, general managers, or franchise operators.
