Accounts Payable Specialist (100796)

Immediate opening for a full-time, temp-to-hire Accounts Payable Specialist! In this full-time role, you will handle a variety of accounts payable duties such as processing transactions, reviewing and entering approved invoices and expense reports, monitoring transactions, etc.

Hours

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:00am-4:00pm

Location

Kailua-Kona, Big Island

Pay

$19 to $23 an hour, DOE

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable transactions and review for accurate general ledger coding.
  • Prepare aged payable reports for weekly payment.
  • Review and enter approved invoices and expense reports for payment.
  • Monitor invoice transactions.
  • Calculate and prepare accounts payable accruals for recurring monthly invoices, credit cards, company travel expenses and freight.
  • Reconcile accounts payable, company credit card clearing, and intercompany ledger accounts to general ledger.
  • Reconcile vendor statements.
  • Prepare data for individual state sales returns.
  • Prepare forms and applications for annual insurance renewal.
  • Prepare and post bi-weekly payroll entries.
  • Prepare, print, and distribute annual 1099 forms.
  • Maintain accounts payable files, including pending and paid invoices; ensures that W-9s are received for all vendors.
  • Assists Corporate Controller with period-end and year-end closing of general ledger.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree with major in business, accounting, or other related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Two years or more of accounting experience in a business office setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new accounting software.
  • Proficiency in math and strong analytical aptitude.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills, including time management, multi-tasking, and attention to detail.
