Job Description

A local behavioral health care nonprofit is seeking a compassionate Crisis Therapist to join their team and provide support and stabilization to their clients. The primary duty of this role is to provide crisis stabilization and crisis support management to individuals experiencing immediate and often life-threatening crisis situations.

The qualified candidate will have advanced training in a mental health profession (i.e., nursing, social work, psychology), possess clinical skills and the ability to function independently in the assessment of suicide, homicide, or other risk assessments.

Full-time, Must be available between 7:30am-9:00pm, including weekends and holidays

Location

Kailua-Kona, Big Island

Pay

$18 an hour

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the revision of crisis plans (i.e., Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) and Crisis Triangle Rating Scale (CTRS)) which includes developing, writing, implementing, and evaluating plans in conjunction with the crisis team.
• Provide individual crisis stabilization and crisis management, and ensure immediate changes are made in the crisis plans as clients? needs change.
• Educate and support clients' families and advocate for clients' rights and preferences.
• Function independently as well as in collaboration with other members of the crisis team as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, counseling, human development or related field.
• Current CPR and first aid certification required.
• Current TB clearance required.
• Ability to effectively communicate (verbal, written, interpersonal) and have superb listening skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deal with situations in a positive and stress-free manner.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with a team.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving abstract.
