In this key leadership role, you’ll shape and drive the company’s people strategy, foster an engaging and positive workplace culture, and ensure full compliance with employment laws and regulations.
The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of Hawaii’s employment laws, experience leading teams of 200+ employees, and a background in the restaurant, manufacturing, or hospitality industries.

Pay
$120,000 to $140,000 a year, Based on experience
Responsibilities
- Partner with the executive team to design and execute the company's overall people and culture strategy.
- Lead the Talent & Culture function to deliver excellence in recruiting, onboarding, development, engagement, and retention.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders on all HR and legal-related matters, providing sound counsel on policy, compliance, and risk mitigation.
- Champion company culture and values through intentional programs that enhance belonging, engagement, and performance.
- Oversee compliance with all federal and state employment laws as well as Hawai'i labor regulations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures that are legally sound, clear, and reflective of company culture.
- Manage investigations, employee relations matters, and disciplinary processes with fairness, confidentiality, and legal rigor.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving employment law trends and ensure proactive adjustments to company practices.
- Partner with legal counsel as needed to resolve complex or high-risk matters.
- Lead initiatives to strengthen recruitment, retention, and talent development programs.
- Support diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies that align with company values and local culture.
- Guide performance management and compensation strategies in collaboration with Finance and Total Rewards.
- Oversee HR data accuracy, reporting, and compliance documentation.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing HR team focused on service, integrity, and continuous improvement.
- Foster a collaborative, respectful environment where communication is open and employees feel supported.
- Model leadership behaviors consistent with the company's values and cultural commitments.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years in a senior HR leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of Federal and Hawai'i employment laws and HR best practices.
- Demonstrated experience managing sensitive employee relations and compliance matters.
- Exceptional communication, judgment, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to balance legal compliance with a people-first, culture-driven approach.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Advanced degree or HR certification (SPHR, SHRM-SCP, etc.) preferred.
- Must comply with a pre-employment State and Federal background check.
