Local manufacturing company is looking for an experienced general laborer to help maintain many aspects of their farm on a day-to-day basis. You will also assist with larger projects including maintenance and construction work.

This is a physically demanding position mostly outdoors in a sunny warm climate.

Hours

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm

Location

Kailua-Kona, Big Island

Pay

$20 an hour

Responsibilities

• Perform general carpentry, painting, concrete work, and construction as needed.
• Install and repair pond liners as needed.
• Install and repair PVC pipe and plumbing as needed.
• Perform general maintenance of ponds and cultivation systems.
• Install and maintain pond cooling systems.
• Operate Sky Trak, backhoe, forklift, and golf carts. Must be able to pass the certification program for heavy equipment.
• Operate hand and power tools, and shop equipment.
• Perform repairs to minimize equipment downtime.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED. Trade school or formal technical training in mechanical trade is preferable.
• 3 years of experience in construction or mechanical related fields.
• Work experience with hand and power tools, and shop equipment is required.
• Experience with PVC pipe installation and repair.
• Ability to learn the skilled use of specialized tools and application techniques to repair pond liners.
