Job Description

Our client is looking for a Pond Field Technician who will be responsible for maintaining basic aspects of algae pond operations including (but not limited to) pond growth, harvest, transfers, feeding, and cleaning of the farm and field functions.

This position's schedule includes working mornings, weekends, and holidays.

The ideal candidate has related experience working in a production facility, aquaculture, or farming, can work outdoors rain or shine, and has great mechanical abilities and attention to detail.

Hours

Full-time, Scheduled days TBD, 6:00am-2:30pm

Location

Kailua-Kona, Big Island

Pay

$20 an hour

Responsibilities

• Sweep and harvest ponds with tractor.
• Line ponds, lay pipes and perform general labor duties.
• Collect daily pond samples, pH, and temperature data and maintain accurate files.
• Calibrate pH and temperature meters.
• Feed and treat ponds with nutrients as needed.
• Process daily pond cleaning and sanitation, pressure wash ponds as needed.
• Set up pond transfers and harvests.
• Maintain all equipment include set-up, fuel, etc.
• Handle monthly janitorial duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of previous experience, preferably in a production facility, aquaculture, or farming.
• Experience with Forklift, Sky Trak, and tractors is helpful, but not required.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work outdoors rain or shine.
• Ability to work weekends as needed.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
