Job Description

A local manufacturing company is seeking a Quality Control Lab Tech to join their team and assist with the daily operations of quality control and assurance.

This position will handle setting up the lab and preparing media standards and enzymes, recording and transferring data, compiling batch records, and performing a variety of analytical and chemical assays for quality assurance. Qualified candidates will have their bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, marine science or botany, and will have previous experience using analytical instruments and techniques.

Hours

Full-time, Tuesday-Friday, 10 hour shift

Location

Kailua-Kona, Big Island

Pay

$23 to $28 an hour, Based on Experience

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of analytical, chemical, and microbiological assays necessary for quality assurance.
• Conduct in-process GMP/HACCP monitoring and quality control sign-off for room release.
• Conduct detailed review of records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and appropriate disposition.
• Compile batch records, record and transfer data.
• Perform setup of laboratory assays including autoclaving, preparing of media, standards, and enzymes.
• Perform daily and monthly GMP inspections of the process buildings and grounds.
• Handle chemical organization, chemical inventory, and general lab cleaning.
• Restock and order lab supplies as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, marine science, botany, or relevant discipline highly preferred.
• Previous work experience using analytical instruments and techniques (HPLC and ICP/MS) preferred.
• Proficient with PC-based computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent organizational, administrative, and time management skills.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Be detail oriented, motivated, hardworking.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and state and federal background check.
