F&B Pool Bar Supervisor   

DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage                                         JOB TITLE: F&B Pool Bar Supervisor

JOB TYPE: Hourly/Non-Exempt

BASIC FUNCTION: Manage food and beverage service for members and guests at the Ko’olau Pool Bar, Lanai and Tier. Supervise Pool staff. Maintain order and cleanliness and ensure that member satisfaction standards are consistently attained.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere to and enforces all policies and procedures as directed by MPCC, the Food and Beverage Director, and F&B Managers.
  • Offer a high level of service to members and guests, making their visits enjoyable.
  • Execute tasks in such a way as to ensure all aspects of the day are prepared for e.g., checking reservation book so tables are set up/reserved properly, ensuring daily specials are done correctly and in a timely manner, reading event orders to prepare for the day’s functions as well as anticipating the set up for future functions, reading emails or texts which may communicate last minute instructions, etc.
  • Perform all Ko’olau Pool Bartender duties, in addition to assisting with roll out of specials and Pool specific programs.
  • Resolve member and guest complaints.
  • Enforce established rules, regulations, and policies.
  • May serve as the Club’s opening or closing manager if needed.
  • Assist and communicate with other members of the management team daily.
  • Use time wisely and productively. Completed assigned tasks efficiently, properly, and on time.
  • Follow proper cash handling procedures and acts as “Cash Handler” when there is no bartender scheduled.
  • Oversee the front of the house staff to ensure the smooth operation of all outdoor dining areas.
  • Delegate duties and assignments to the staff as necessary.
  • Assist the staff in executing their duties as necessary, e.g., running food, taking orders, delivering drinks, clearing, and resetting tables.
  • Relay all pertinent information and any policies/procedure changes, as directed.
  • Keep abreast of all Club policies, procedures, promotions, and upcoming events. Communicates these to the staff.
  • Ensure the correct set-up, appearance, and cleanliness of all outdoor dining areas.
  • Ensure that all side work is accomplished, and all cleaning of equipment and storage areas is completed according to schedule.
  • Serve as a liaison between the front of the house and kitchen staff.
  • Assess staff levels based on anticipated guest counts and client needs and adjust appropriately.
  • Assist in maintaining the labor budget by ensuring staff work according to their schedule and cutting labor when able.
  • Effectively “Coach and Counsel” staff as necessary. Seek direction from the appropriate F&B Manager as needed.
  • Assist with inventory as necessary.
  • Ensure the safety of staff and members during service.
  • Submit all requests for policy changes or implementation of new procedures or promotions to the appropriate F&B Manager.
  • Submit requests to change bar or wine inventory to the appropriate F&B Manager.
  • Report accidents and injuries of employees, members, or guests within 24 hours of occurrence by completing the appropriate report form and submitting it to human resources.
  • Assist with decoration and planning of all major holidays and Club Events.
  • Responsible for the organization and cleanliness of storage areas.
  • Report any deficiencies in the maintenance or proper functioning of equipment.
  • Ensuring that all Pool closing duties are completed, trash and linens going to correct places, etc.
  • Carries out any other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains a professional appearance.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform required roles during emergency situations.
  • Must be available to work nights, holidays, and weekends as necessary.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Must be able to do basic math.
  • Must be able to retain and carry out instructions in written and oral form.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge are required.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent GED (General Education Degree)
  • A manager “Blue” liquor card is required.
  • At least one year as a supervisor
  • At least two years working in the F & B Industry

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, talk, smell, and hear.
  • Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, and twist or reach.
  • Push, pull, or lift to 50 pounds.
  • Continuous repetitive motions.

 WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work will be done potentially both indoors and outside.
  • This job requires regular and predictable attendance.
  • Work in a hot, humid, and noisy environment.
