Maintenance & Repair Worker

REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs general maintenance and repairs throughout the Club, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, masonry, drywall, painting, tile, grout, furniture, appliances, building structures, ventilation systems, and related equipment.
• Maintains and repairs air-conditioning systems, refrigerators, ice machines, pool pumps, small motors, and other Club equipment.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance on Club facilities and equipment in accordance with established preventive maintenance procedures and schedules.
• Maintains and cleans the Clubhouse swimming pool, including pool equipment, filtration, chlorination, and general upkeep.
• Tests swimming pool water, maintains required chemical levels, and completes daily water-testing logs in accordance with health department requirements.
• Completes minor construction and repair projects, including tile installation, drywall repair, wall patching, grouting, painting, and brick/paver repairs.
• Safely operates and maintains power tools and other maintenance equipment.
• Responds appropriately to facility-related emergencies and understands assigned responsibilities during emergency situations.
• Attends departmental staff meetings as required.
• Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Performs other maintenance-related duties and assignments as directed by the Facilities Manager.

  PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• · Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
• · Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
• · Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
• · Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position.
• · Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping and pulling.
• · Frequent repetitive motions.
• · Continuous standing and walking.

 EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• · High School diploma or GED required.
• · Post-secondary vocational/ technical training in electrical engineering, HVAC or refrigeration desirable.
• · One year maintenance experience in an institutional or business setting.

SCHEDULE:

• 8 hour shift
• Holidays
• Weekend availability
