Responsibilities

As a Psych Aide / Para Medical Assistant, you will help provide a safe and supportive environment for patients. Responsibilities include:

• Monitor patients' physical and mental condition and accurately document observations.
• Recognize signs of escalating or potentially aggressive behavior and assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation.
• Obtain and document vital signs and other patient information in medical records.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, feeding, grooming, and other personal-care needs.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and appropriately use electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Complete additional patient-care duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous healthcare experience or medical education/coursework
• Current BLS certification and TB clearance
• Knowledge of behavioral observation and crisis-intervention techniques
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• The ability to remain calm and use effective stress-management techniques
• The ability to work independently and as part of a care team
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
