POSITION SUMMARY
Join Hawaii’s leading distributor of agricultural and industrial chemicals, fertilizer, and specialty products. Under the general supervision of the Branch Manager, perform warehouse activities and liquid plant operations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Manufactures sodium hypochlorite solutions according to authorized procedures.
2.Fills containers and tankers, loads containers onto delivery vehicles, discharges materials as applicable, and offloads containers. Cleans containers and tankers before reuse.
3.Operates all other equipment as may be required relative to the production, processing, packaging, and delivery of all products handled at the facility.
4.Performs all necessary functions relative to the production, packaging, and delivery of sodium hypochlorite solution, including, but not limited to, operating pumps, valves and control systems; inspecting, cleaning and handling packaging containers; operating the water treatment system for the cooling tower.
5.Keeps Branch Manager apprised of equipment malfunction, as well as other problems that may arise, from time to time, during the manufacturing and/or delivery processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
1.Ability to manufacture formulated products according to Company provided training and/or manuals.
2.Minimum one-year experience in warehousing activities; also requires current forklift/high-lift certification.
3.Familiar with the handling and storage requirements of hazardous materials such as caustic soda, chlorine, acids, etc.
4.Basic math skills.
5.Ability to work independently, perform repetitive tasks, and perform under stress or when confronted with an emergency, critical, unusual or dangerous situation.
6.Basic mechanical aptitude. Understanding of use and care of all assigned tools, equipment, and vehicle.
7.High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Demands:
1.Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs.
2.Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
3.Eye-foot coordination in accordance with visual stimuli.
4.Ability to push and/or pull levers and/or pedals as in operating a high-lift/forklift, opening chutes, or controlling valves.
5.Ability to climb, ascend, or descend stairs.
6.Ability to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, sitting, and crouching.
7.Stooping: able to bend the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist.
8.Crouching: able to bend the body downward and forward by bending the legs and spine.
9.Ability to move (by rolling) cylinders weighing up to 150 lbs.
10.Ability to wear a respirator for emergency response situations.
