Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support our Project Managers in the successful execution of electrical construction projects. This role is ideal for someone with a background in construction or electrical systems looking to grow into a full Project Management position. You will assist in coordinating all aspects of projects from planning through closeout, ensuring seamless communication between field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, and coordinating electrical construction projects, including creating and maintaining detailed project schedules.
  • Support the procurement process by entering & coordinating material orders, tracking deliveries, and managing subcontractor schedules.
  • Prepare and manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), daily reports, change orders, and closeout packages.
  • Monitor project progress, job costs, and quality; identify potential issues and assist in risk mitigation.
  • Conduct site visits to oversee electrical installations, ensure compliance with plans/specifications, and promote safe work practices.
  • Facilitate communication with owners, general contractors, architects, engineers, and field personnel.
  • Assist with project financials, including work in progress (WIP) forecasting, tracking costs/revenue, and processing billings.
  • Ensure adherence to electrical codes, safety regulations (e.g., OSHA & USACE EM 385), and company quality control standards.

 

Qualifications

  • Degree in Construction Management is a plus, related field experience preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 1-3 years of experience in construction, preferably in the electrical trade or as a project coordinator/engineer.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, materials, blueprints, and construction methods.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project, Accubid, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite: willingness and ability to learn if not.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification a plus; willingness to obtain if not current.
