Job Description

Position Summary: 

A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional who practices under the close, ongoing supervision of a BCBA or BCaBA. RBT's are primarily responsible for the direct implementation of behavior-analytic services. RBT's provide 1:1 behavioral intervention services to children with special needs and support to their families. They are responsible for implementing Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) based programs as directed by the BCBA/BCaBA.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Completes a BACB approved RBT course and keeps registration to the BACB current.
  • Assists the BCBA in implementing behavioral programming in a 1:1 setting.
  • Collects data on all programming and writes progress notes.
  • Participates in in-service programs as assigned.
  • Understands and adheres to established policies and procedures.
  • With the BCBA, instructs patients and family/significant others in programs and protocols.
  • Observes confidentiality and safeguards all patient related information.
  • Immediately reports to BCBA/ Supervisor any patient incidents/variances or complaints.
  • Adheres to Agency standards
  • Demonstrates effective time management skills through daily documentation
  • Maintains clean and neat work environment.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment, critical thinking and decision making.
  • Maintains current CPR and BLS certification (agency may assist with this).
  • Maintains acceptable attendance, per Agency policy.
  • Attends all staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
