United Construction Group (UCG) is a locally owned, veteran-owned design-build general contractor delivering residential, commercial, and institutional construction projects. Our mission is to improve communities by putting the client journey first, while building long-term value through quality construction and strong relationships.

We are expanding our sales leadership team and are seeking a Sales Leader to drive project acquisition, manage high-value client relationships, and contribute directly to UCG’s continued growth.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Sales Leaders at UCG operate as independent 1099 contractors and serve as the front line of our business. This role is ideal for experienced, self-driven sales professionals who want uncapped earning potential, long-term growth, and exposure to large-scale construction projects.

You will manage the full sales lifecycle — from initial outreach through contract execution — while collaborating with estimating, design, and project teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate and develop new client relationships through networking, referrals, outreach, and meetings
  • Conduct in-depth consultations to understand client goals, scope, and project feasibility
  • Guide clients toward the appropriate delivery method (design-build, service, or construction contract)
  • Create and submit scopes of work to the estimating team
  • Present proposals and explain value, timelines, and investment structure
  • Negotiate terms and secure signed agreements and initial payments
  • Coordinate smooth handoff to project management and construction teams
  • Maintain ongoing client communication throughout design and build phases
  • Support collections at contract milestones and project closeout
  • Track pipeline activity, performance, and follow-ups using the company CRM

COMPENSATION STRUCTURE

This is a commission-only Sales Leader role with no income cap. Compensation is earned on a project-by-project basis and paid from collected funds.

Residential & Commercial Projects

  • Projects up to $250,000 → Up to 5% commission
  • $250,000 – $1,000,000 → Up to 6% commission
  • $1,000,000+ → Up to 7% commission

State & Federal Projects

  • Below $10M → Up to 1.5% commission
  • $10M+ → Up to 2.0% commission

TRAINING AND SUPPORT

  • Structured onboarding and role-specific sales training
  • Ongoing product, process, and compliance education
  • CRM access, marketing materials, and internal support teams
  • Monthly growth and performance meetings (Zoom or in-person)

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Proven sales experience (construction, real estate, or high-ticket sales preferred)
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage long sales cycles and multiple opportunities
  • Comfortable working independently as a 1099 contractor
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with design-build or construction workflows
  • CRM experience
  • Reliable transportation for client meetings (HI or TX markets)
